Kazoku — Data & Account Deletion

Last updated: 18 September 2026

You can delete your Kazoku account and the data associated with it at any time, or remove only part of your data and keep the account. The fastest way is inside the app — you do not need to contact us.

Delete only some of your data

You do not have to delete your account to remove data. None of this needs a request to us:

For anything else — diagnostics tied to your account, for example — email kazokusupport@gmail.com from the address on your account and tell us what should go. We handle these requests within 30 days. Deletion is permanent: copies already delivered to other people's devices, and minimal records we must keep for legal or security reasons, may remain.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open Settings (the last tab).
  2. Tap your profile card at the top to open your profile.
  3. Tap the gear icon in the top right corner of that screen.
  4. Tap Delete account.
  5. Confirm in the dialog that appears.

The account is deleted straight away and you are signed out on that device. Every other device signed in to the account is signed out too, and any active session is dropped. This works the same on iOS and Android.

Prefer to email us?

Email kazokusupport@gmail.com from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my Kazoku account". We verify the request and delete the account, normally within 30 days. Use this route if you have lost access to the app.

What is erased

What is kept, and why

Messages, media and call-log entries you sent are not erased from the conversations they were part of — deleting them would silently tear holes in other people's chat history, which is their record of the conversation as much as yours. Instead they are detached from you: they are reassigned to an anonymous "Deleted user" placeholder, so nothing in them points back to your account, profile or identity.

Reports you sent, or that concern you, are kept so that moderation decisions stay on record, and are detached from your account in the same way.

If you want specific messages gone as well, delete them in the app before deleting your account — the deletion goes through to everyone in the chat.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Content already delivered to other users' devices, and minimal records we must keep for legal or security reasons, may remain.
